Country Team Lead
Marasi Mwencha is an accomplished supply chain expert and program manager with 13 years of progressive international development experience implementing Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, CDC, Global Fund, UN, and USAID-funded contracts in 20 countries. Marasi Mwencha is currently the Country Team Lead for the inSupply project in Tanzania. In his role, he is responsible for leading all the technical activities of the project in addition to providing oversight for the projects work in country. Prior to this role, Marasi served as the Deputy Country Director for JSI on SCMS and the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT where he was responsible for providing technical oversight to the project’s work in Tanzania. He has specific strengths in strategic planning and health system strengthening, and the use of information technology at scale to strengthen, monitor, and evaluate health systems. He has experience in an array of health programs including family planning, HIV/AIDS, immunization, and malaria. Prior to joining JSI in 2010, Marasi served in several roles with direct responsibility in supply chain management and health economics, including Management Sciences for Health and the Institute of Human Virology. He has a Healthcare focused MBA from the George Washington University and a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of North Carolina. He speaks English, French, and Swahili.
